STAT6 Recombinant Protein: A Core Transcription Factor of Th2-Type Immune Responses and a Key Target for Allergic Diseases
This article focuses on the molecular characteristics and immune functions of signal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6), systematically elaborating its role as a core Th2-type immune transcription factor regulated by IL-4 and IL-13 in the pathophysiology of allergic diseases, analyzing the molecular mechanisms of the JAK-STAT6 signaling cascade from cytokine receptor binding to nuclear translocation and dephosphorylation cycling, and exploring the differential functions of STAT6 in T cells, B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells as well as its pathogenic contributions in asthma, atopic dermatitis, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
