IRF5 recombinant protein
IRF5 recombinant protein: a bi-directional regulatory transcription factor with dual tumor-suppressive and oncogenic functions
This article focuses on the molecular characteristics and immune functions of interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5), systematically elaborating its role as a key mediator of innate and adaptive immunity downstream of pathogen recognition receptors in inflammation and autoimmune diseases, analyzing the tumor-suppressive mechanisms by which IRF5 inhibits growth and induces apoptosis through p21, Bax, and caspase 8, and promotes tumor regression through interferon production and immunomodulatory cascades, and exploring its other face of exerting oncogenic functions in specific cancers through hypomethylation-mediated overexpression and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
