This article focuses on the molecular characteristics and signal transduction functions of the interleukin-2 receptor β subunit (CD122), systematically elaborating the molecular mechanisms by which it, as a shared subunit of IL-2R and IL-15R, mediates JAK-STAT signal transduction through the formation of dimeric or trimeric receptor complexes, analyzing the differential roles of CD122 in the proliferation regulation of CD8-positive T cells, NK cells, and regulatory T cells, and exploring the precision strategies and clinical value of CD122-biased IL-2 agonists in tumor immunotherapy.
