BRD4 Recombinant Protein: A Core Transcriptional Regulator of the BET Family and a Key Tool for Tumor-Targeted Research
This article focuses on the molecular characteristics and transcriptional regulatory functions of bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4), systematically elaborating its structural basis as a BET family member composed of two tandem bromodomains, BD1 and BD2, analyzing the molecular mechanisms by which BRD4 participates in the transcription of oncogenes such as MYC, BCL2, and BCL6 through binding with RNA polymerase II and the positive transcription elongation factor P-TEFb, and exploring the association between BRD4 dysregulation and hematological malignancies, breast cancer, and colon cancer, as well as the antitumor effects of its targeted inhibition.
